Matt.4:18-19 Christianity is a call, a call to follow Christ. Being a follower is to forsake your desired lifestyle and will so as to fully obey the one who has called you.
The Promise of God only becomes fulfilled in you when you become a follower because until you follow Jesus, He can't make you. There are certain dimensions of followership.
1. You must follow God Ephe. 5:1-2 To follow God is to obey all that God has and is saying to His Church. It is to posses the characters of God which are the fruits of the Spirit. Every genuine follower of God, possess the characters of Jesus which are the fruits of the Spirit.
2.You must follow a Man sent from God. 1Corinth.11:1, In this end time, you can't follow God successfully without following a man sent from God. My spiritual Father and mentor, Apostle Ernest Mathew said; " you can't sideline God's servants to reach God because even God respect His servants".
Hosea 12:13 says; By a Prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt and by a Prophet was he persevered. To be a follower of God, discover a man whom God has sent and follow him by serving under him. Many indeed have been called into Christianity but only those who are followers of God are the chosen. So be a follower of God because this is what it means to be a Christian. If you have not been following Jesus, make up your mind today to be a true follower. God bless you Amen.
